I love its long feathery leaves and the way it lends itself to creating longer pendants to reflect this shape.Attitudes towards this plant vary from considering it as a prolific weed to seeking out the more
exciting varieties with terracotta, bronze and summer berry coloured flowers as ornamentals. However, this plant has a long and highly respected tradition as a sacred and healing herb. You can read the Hedgewitch information sheet here.

thanks for dropping in from your sunny climes, naturegirl!
yes, its very like fern, they work well too .. i love playing with the leaves and clay (its very therapeutic) :-)
What a great idea for making such lovely pendants. I've got a big patch of yarrow that I just love. Hubby asks me every year if I'm going to "weed" it. I always respond that it isn't a weed...it's a wild flower and there's a difference!
thanks, nature nut!
lol, I agree, there definitely is a difference!
if you do have to cut it back a bit, though, hang the leaves up to dry and store them in a glass jar, as it makes a great tea (with dried elderflowers) for colds in the winter?
thanks for visiting :-)
Hello and thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog :)
I love yarrow. It grows beautifully in our hot, dry summers and there are always more plants to spread around. I'm starting some brilliant yellow flowered ones from seedheads a neighbor passed on to me.
hi there amy.. you're so welcome!
isn't it wonderful to grow something from seed passed on by a friend.. i love looking round the garden and thinking that plant came from this friend or that.. there are some really beautiful coloured flowers, i look forward to seeing your yellow ones in bloom :-)
